I’m mildly obsessed with throw pillows. Mildly. I have a cart full of them on CB2’s website, and may have one on the way to me from Anthropologie. It’s honest to goodness the easiest way to change up the look of a room, and right now I’m craving monochrome, monochrome, monochrome. Here are some of the ones in my cart(s)…
I’m tweaking the house a little bit and I’ve found myself gravitating towards well travelled looks, bohemian, and natural pieces. I’ve stumbled on some amazing pricing on some pieces, so you and I can get the “look for less”. I called this the “Global Style” but I’m not sure if that’s an accurate description for this roundup. Pretty much whatever the look is above, I’m obsessed.
If your budget allows, then some more designer pillows may be up your alley. I’m a big pillow hoarder and feel like pillows can instantly change a room, so am guilty of splurging on pillows like these…
When I’m building product lines for The Penny Paper Co. or, building a collection of patterns for my licences – I am naturally inspired and aware of what’s trending. Sometimes it’s a colour (pink), or a product line that I have a gut feeling will be a good fit (enamel pins). And sometimes it’s just an obsession with something like holograms or iridescent that has been making it’s way into the market for awhile. My love affair with holograms and iridescent is rooted in the fact that it is a retro trend – bringing us back to the days of hyper-colour shirts, mood rings, hologram stickers —our childhood. I’ve been in love with the retro trend for over a year and the Spring collection for The Penny Paper Co. will not disappoint, if you’re in love with the retro stuff like I. Anyhow, here is what has caught my eye lately. xo
Although work is dominating most of my free time these days, I squeezed in a few projects to help girlfriends out with over the last few weeks, and their professions are interior decorating and styling – which sparked an itch for me to redecorate. (After writing all about how I was giving up decorating posts. Go figure) Alas, I have no available funds to do said-decorating so it’s all about window shopping and taking in what’s new in-stores and dreaming. The itch got me browsing my online stores of choice and I went to CB2‘s site and was shocked at the gorgeousness. They seem to have stepped up the game a little, even though I loved their old style it seems as though they are inching closer to a West Elm look. I had to think about it for a second – because a lot of these companies are all connected. But CB2 is a lower end option to Crate and Barrel (same company) and West Elm is connected with Pottery Barn and, William Sonoma. (Kind of like Old Navy to Gap, to Banana Republic) Blah blah blah. I’m rambling. Anyhow, here’s the gorgeousness that I fell for.
First, look at some of these accessories. I die.
Then you look at their bigger furniture pieces and I died again.
I’ve been saving things that have tassels and pompoms while window shopping. I’m obsessed! They are so bright and summery. Also, I think these would make super fun DIY projects. Like go to HomeSense, get a basket and tie on some PomPoms and BOOM! You have a designer basket. Do the same with a tote. Or, just buy the fancy designer version because those are pretty glorious! 😉
