Backyard Studio Build, Progress

There has been progress on the studio!

The Metrie shiplap has been installed, and I got to work right away on filling all the nail gun holes with wood filler. (As you can see above the pink splotches!) After the putty dried, I went over the spots with my mouse sander to get it as smooth as possible.

Once I was happy with it, I painted the entire interior in Benjamin Moore’s Simply White (OC-117) after deliberating between this and Chantilly Lace or, Cloud White. And before you roll your eyes at the concept of choosing between whites – companies make hundreds upon hundreds of white options because they are.all. different. I caught some side eye on social media for debating between three whites. Guys. They are actually different. But to some, it may not matter. But to me if does. So I spend time making sure these choices are right. And I can now confirm, it was the right choice. I love the colour.

I was on the hunt for some great lighting in here and fell for the idea of lanterns. But the ones I loved were ridiculously expensive – until I found these online at Lowes. (They aren’t available in-store) You can also find this via a different brand name on Wayfair.ca and for my US friends on Wayfair.com. At first I thought I was going to paint them white, then I thought I’d go with black -but once they were hung the vintage / gold look started to grow on me so I’m leaving it for now, to see how it goes.

That’s it for now, I’ll show you the flooring debates next! xo

I agree with you on deliberating over whites. I’m doing that right now.

    Hi Lindsay,
Looks great! Can’t seem to find the Metrie product on their website. Is it solid wood or MDF?
