The new Pottery Barn catalog was released and I did a little gasp when I flipped through the pages. Full confession. I haven’t been a huge Pottery Barn in the last few years. Although I have always relied on them for classic pieces (like lamps) – I felt that each season was the same as the previous, and kind of wrote them off as not my type. Whereas stores like West Elm I feel has embraced some trends (like Mid Century Modern) Pottery Barn was always, well, Pottery Barn. Now, something has changed. In a small way perhaps? I feel like they have tweaked their designs just a little bit – enough to be refreshing and a little more current but still very much Pottery Barn.
It was actually this scene that made me take notice first – I’m a fan of this look – a little mid century, beachy and could be out of the pages of Coastal Living Magazine.
Then there was this scene. I died. That fireplace is just everything. Change around the pillows and you have a totally different look so I’m a huge fan of this style of room. That fireplace, the dark iron doors, the white white and white. Heaven.
Then I came across the Explosion Chandelier and I’m smitten. And I think I need this for my dining room. I want to paint my walls black and have this chandelier. Watch it happen. I am in love. (On a side note, I dislike the chairs very, very much but that is besides the point)
I don’t know what has come over me but I kind of want this bedding. Aubrey is surely going to take my temperature if he reads this post but I feel like this is the most divine bedding, especially for at a cottage.
I collect brass candlesticks so was pretty ecstatic to see that the trend of a lot of brass candlesticks are present in this catalog. I’m not sure I’m totally in love with the finish above, but I think you’d have to see them in person.
There you go! Some of my favourites and my observations on perhaps some new design tweaking the company is doing (and I’m liking!)
