Star Gazing….

Wednesday night I just needed to get out of the house, so I snatched up Aubrey and we went for a power walk around Yorkdale. The purpose of the trip to the mall was really just to get out of the house. Sometimes a girl just needs to get out of the house + drink a smoothie and get away from the days stressers. I’m glad we did because we stopped into Pottery Barn Kids and spotted this…

EEEEK. Fell – in – love.

We bought it and I can’t wait to hang it in the nursery. Not only is it SUPER cute, it reminds me of my Dad….

Every summer at the cottage my Dad will explain what star is what, and we all peer into the telescope and realize how tiny we all are in this huge, huge solar system. There is nothing like lying on a dock, with a blanket of white twinkling stars above you.

So, mixing cute + sentimental works perfectly for me. 🙂

My dad did the EXACT same thing. We go to Algonquin Park every summer and he plans the trip around the Persieds meteor shower. I'm 27 and he'll still as me, "Wanna go outside and watch the space station go over at 9:17pm?"

The mobile looks really neat. I can't wait to try and make one for my neice or nephew.

Thanks ladies! It was one of those finds that even Aubrey loved, there was no convincing him. The fact that it was in the Star Wars area of Pottery Barn maybe helped my cause a little. 😉

Hopeless Chest – There is something about star gazing isn't there? Especially somewhere like a cottage or Algonquin. It just seems like the sky is ALL white with stars. Something you never see in full effect in the city. And the Meteor showers…those are the best! When someone sees one zip by and everyone freaks out, and some get mad because they were looking in a different area of the sky & missed it. Such awesome memories. 😉

Are they still selling that? I need to get one for our budding astronomer. Although he'll be sad that the dwarf planets near Pluto aren't included. Eres and something else…shoot, forget being smarter than a 5th grader. My 5 year old is smarter than I am.

That is such a great idea and is even more awesome because of what you shared with your Dad 🙂

Linds, wouldn't that picture of your cottage be a beautiful one to enlarge and put up in the nursery? Just thinking out loud, here. Steph (as in, your ex-neighbour) xo
